An exhibition about the Peeping Tom at Vegas Gallery invites visitors to investigate the world of the voyeur. The gallery is presenting several works from a group of artists, with paintings, prints, photos, works on paper and installations all based around this one central theme.
Peeping Tom at Vegas Gallery
The legend of Peeping Tom concerns a man who spied on Lady Godiva naked on horseback and was turned blind as a consequence. Nowadays, we call anyone seen spying, or looking at things they perhaps shouldn't, a Peeping Tom. Vegas Gallery has bought together a selection of artists work that exemplifies the notion of illicit spying or pieces that are inspired by the legend.
Big name artists on show
Included in the exhibition entitled Peeping Tom at Vegas Gallery you can see works by several big name artists who have contributed their sculptures, paintings or installations. Art on show includes pieces by the likes of Tracey Emin, Mat Collishaw, Bob and Roberta Smith, Michael Landy, Gavin Turk and Gillian Wearing, so you can be sure that there is plenty of fantastic modern art on view.
Exhibition highlights
Highlights at the Peeping Tom exhibtion include works in various different media with a stunning image of a white horse's head by Emer O'Brien, a single eyeball in profile by Gavin Turk, a photo of a naked woman astride a printed horse, and a sculpture of a woman standing on an oil barrel being scruntinised by another woman by Gillian Wearing.
